Rehabilitation information

Following surgery, an accident or a major illness, you may notice some reduction in your usual ability to cope with everyday activities. This can often be a very difficult experience for you and your family.

Rehabilitation provides the care, therapy and support needed to assist you towards regaining your independence.

At Attadale Rehabilitation Hospital, we have teams of dedicated, specialist staff who provide a variety of inpatient rehabilitation programs including cardiac, orthopaedic, neurological, falls prevention, pain management and reconditioning.

What does inpatient rehabilitation involve?

On admission to Attadale Rehabilitation Hospital you will be assessed by a multidisciplinary team who will establish an individualised plan of therapy in consultation with you. Together, realistic goals will be set to ensure you can maximise your independence prior to discharge.

A medical specialist will oversee your therapy program and monitor your progress in conjunction with other team members. The nurse in charge will coordinate your care and is available to discuss any concerns that may arise. Nursing care is provided 24 hours a day. Your allied health program will include Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy and runs 6 days a week.

The Rehabilitation team consists of the following team members:

  • Medical Practitioner
  • Clinical Nurse
  • Occupational Therapist
  • Physiotherapist
